Dead Alien Sinner

The term "dead alien sinner" is a term used amoung many baptists. It comes from the verse:

(Ephesians 2:12) That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Which means you were alienated from God. Being apart from God is the state of man through the transgression of Adam in the fall. Those that are not with God are against him. When the Holy Spirit reborns you, you are made close to God and therefor no more alienated from God. You are reconciled by the death of Jesus.

(Colossians 1:21-22) And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled (22) In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

When a person is alienated from God, he doesn't desire the good things of God, he hasn't the ability to know God, he can't understand the words of God, and he can't discern spiritual things of God. His whole being is "dead" to God.

Dead men can't do anything towards making themselves alive, as they are dead. It takes the power of Jesus to resurrect your spiritual life through the Holy Ghost in the rebirth.

A picture is worth a thousand words to show what dead man can do.
